MAKE A WISH

The Make A Wish Foundation is an organization that makes wishes come true for children who are very sick.   On April 16th Jennifer Harbaruk and her daughter Lizzy (who has  cancer)  will come and explain how we can raise funds for this cause.  In our own classroom Payton  has gone through treatment for leukemia.  He is doing well.

THE GREAT PARKCREST EGG DROP

This is a fun event for families.  Please make sure that your child's first and last name appear on the contraption as well as the teacher's name.   Raw eggs are provided by PAC!

LANGUAGE ARTS

Students are on the edge of their seats, listening to Lost In The Barrens.   They are learning to use variety in their responses as well as the difference between a realistic prediction and what is the obvious.   There will not be a new unit in Spelling City this week.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Our novel is leading  nicely to our upcoming Social Studies theme of explorers.  We will begin with a personal time line.  Please support your child in doing this home project together.   The paper on which to do the project and an outline with instructions went home Friday,  April 11th.   Please do not send the completed project to school before April 22nd.

MATH

We are working on division in terms of what has been divided into sets, how many sets are there, and how many in each set.  Students should continue to practice fact families at home.  For example: 7X8=56  8X7=56,  56/8=7  56/8=7.
