-BOOK FAIR- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday this week!
-LIBRARY- Tuesday, June 11th Last day for book exchange.
-Swimming Lessons: Monday/Tuesday-10:30, Wednesday/Thursday-1:30 .  We will leave the school approximately half an hour before lesson time.  Don't forget your swim suit and towel.  It is recommended that girls wear a one piece.  If you wear your suit to school under your clothes, don't forget your underwear!
-TALENT SHOWCASE- June 18th @ 1:00.  Auditions: June 3, 4. 5

FIRST NATIONS CULTURAL DAY FRIDAY- The permission slip said that lunch was provided.  This is an error.  Each child will need a bag lunch and water.

LANGUAGE ARTS
This week we will begin a novel study on 'Owls In The Family' by Farley Mowat.  Although it was first written in 1961 this classic has been re-released many times.  It still proves to be popular with this audience.

MATH
This week is an introduction to angles and how to measure them using a compass.

SCIENCE
We have begun studying what habitats are and the interdependence of living things.

LANGUAGE ARTS
We continue to learn about poetic forms such as: limmericks, similies, cinquains, and haikus.

MATH
This week we begin a new unit on geometry.  Students will learn about the sides and vertices of 3-D figures.  We will also introduce angles.

SCIENCE
Last week students completed the research animal facts.  This week they will put together their animal mystery quest presentations for our video conference coming up on Monday, May 28th.

Thank you to everyone who participated in International Day.  We learned a lot about each other.

LANGUAGE ARTS
This week we will begin a unit on poetry.  Students are encouraged to collect poems (copy them out) or write their own and illustrate them.

MATH
 Our new unit is on Probability and Data Management.  Data is information.  Students will learn to organize it into categories according to attributes.

SCIENCE
This week we will begin animal research in preparation for our Animal Mystery Quest.
